Today, approximately 250 tons of cadmium slag were moved from a J & B Metal warehouse in the Muang district of Samut Sakhon province to Tak province. This marks the second shipment of such materials.
Under the careful supervision of officials, including Aditad Vasinonta, director-general of the Department of Primary Industries and Mines, and Samut Sakhon industrial works chief Putthikorn Wichaidit, eight trailer trucks each transported up to 18 bags (or 30 tonnes) of cadmium slag.
Last week, a similar amount of cadmium slag was transported from warehouses in Bangkok and Samut Sakhon to Tak. However, upon arrival in Tak, some bags fell to the ground due to the chains securing them breaking.
Illegally, over the course of several months last year, about 13,000 tonnes of cadmium slag were moved from the Bound and Beyond Plc warehouse in Tak to Samut Sakhon and Bangkok.
