    Baseball

    Wissahickon 3, Upper Dublin 2 (9): Josh Palutis made a winning two-out double in the bottom of the ninth inning on Thursday to secure Wissahickon's sixth consecutive win.

    Upper Dublin took a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a Nate Cairnes RBI double and Oliver Gill’s RBI sacrifice fly. The Trojans equalized the SOL Liberty contest in the second with Brayden Ryan’s two-RBI double.

    In the ninth inning, Wiss’ Mark Selverian hit a single but was forced out at second on Jonnie Klinger’s play. However, Klinger advanced to second on a wild pitch and then scored the winning run on Palutis’ double.

    Finn Olszewski had a 2-for-4 game with a run scored for the Trojans (11-4, 8-4 division). Cairnes went 2-for-4 with a run scored for UD (10-3, 8-2), which had a seven-game win streak snapped.

    Quakertown 2, Plymouth Whitemarsh 1: Matt Marsten went 2-for-2 with an RBI double and also allowed just one hit and one unearned run while pitching 6 ⅓ innings as Quakertown handed Plymouth Whitemarsh its first SOL Liberty loss and broke the Colonials’ 12-game win streak.

    The Panthers (11-4, 10-2 division) scored both runs in the fourth inning on Marsten’s double and Gunner Rahn’s RBI single two batters later. PW (13-3, 12-1) scored in the sixth when Johnny Giordano came home on a passed ball.

    Marsten walked five, hit two batters and struck out four. Macen Probithon struck out the two batters he faced in the seventh to secure the win.

    Souderton 10, Pennridge 5: Souderton overcame a 5-3 deficit with a five-run top of the fourth inning – Chris McKenna drew a bases-loaded walk followed by consecutive two-RBI singles by Tyler Lutz and Austin Kreyenhagen — and went on to earn their fourth consecutive win.

    Lutz finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored for the Indians while Kreyenhagen went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Connor Klock was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Jeremy Fallon doubled, walked twice and scored three runs and McKenna had three runs scored.

    Souderton took a 3-0 lead in the first inning before Pennridge scored three in the second and two in the third. Ahead 8-5, the Indians added two runs in the sixth.

    Zach Swanson had a 2-for-3 game with two RBIs and a run scored for the Rams. Andrew Rendler went 2-for-3 with two runs while Ryder Olson was 2-for-4.

    North Penn 6, CB West 1: North Penn secured a 3-0 lead with three runs in the second inning while Nick Palovich struck out 10 in a complete-game performance as the Knights claimed their fourth straight win.

    Henry Wetzel was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for North Penn (10-5, 8-5 SOL Colonial). Jeremiah Criger went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored with Ben Farley going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Palovich allowed an earned run on four hits and one walk.

    Central Bucks West (6-8 5-7 SOL Colonial) narrowed the gap to 3-1 in the fifth inning with Duke Psoras’ RBI single but the Knights scored twice in the sixth then added another run in the seventh.

    Hatboro-Horsham 1, Abington 0: Dominic Rapino got a single that brought in a run in the beginning of the game, and that was all Jamie O’Neill needed as he threw a complete game with five hits without allowing any runs to help Hatboro-Horsham win in the SOL Liberty division.

    O’Neill got four batters out via strikeouts and only allowed one walk as the Hatters improved to 8-6 (7-6 division).

    Joe Loughney got two hits in three at-bats for Abington (4-7, 4-7).

    Plumstead Christian 9, Dock 5: Dock Mennonite was winning 4-3 after four innings but Plumstead Christian scored six times in the top of the fifth to defeat the Pioneers.

    Brayden Kratz had a three hits in four at-bats and scored two runs for Dock while Matt Miles got four RBIs.

    Santiago Torres got three hits in four at-bats with a double, three RBIs and a run scored for Plumstead. DJ Glass got two hits in three at-bats with a three-RBI triple in the fifth and a run scored while Phil Young got two hits in three at-bats with an RBI and scored twice.

    Upper Moreland 13, William Tennent 12: Nate Kelly got three hits in five at-bats with a double, triple and two RBIs as Upper Moreland narrowly defeated William Tennent in an SOL Freedom division game.

    Upper Moreland went ahead 3-0 in the beginning but the Panthers scored seven in the second then got another run in the third for an 8-1 lead. The Golden Bears, however, responded with four in the fourth to come within 8-7 then took a 13-8 lead with a six-run fifth. Tennent made it 13-10 in its half of the fifth then scored two more in the sixth.

    Dylan Wood got three hits in four at-bats with two RBIs and a run scored for UM. Patrick Kilgus finished with two hits in three at-bats with three RBIs and a run while Luke Sword got two hits in three at-bats with a double and an RBI.

    Tennent’s Sam Vernick got two hits in three at-bats with a double and a run scored. Conor Servis got four RBIs while Chase Solkoff was two hits in four at-bats with two runs scored.

    CB East 5, CB South 1: Chase Fulford got three hits in four at-bats with a double and two RBIs while Damian Frayne struck out 11 in a complete-game effort in Central Bucks East’s SOL Colonial division win.

    Chase Harlan hit a solo home run in the beginning of the game while Fulford made it 2-0 two batters later with his RBI single. East (11-4, 10-2 division) went up 3-0 in the third on a Fulford RBI double before Central Bucks South’s Jake Yang hit a solo homer in the bottom of the inning. The Patriots, however, added a run in both the fifth and seventh.

    Reece Moody got two hits in four at-bats with a triple and two runs for East. Frayne allowed an earned run on three hits and two walks.

    Archbishop Wood 11, Central 3: Chase Cavallaro got two hits in two at-bats with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored as Archbishop Wood claimed a non-league win.

    Wood trailed 1-0 until scoring seven times in the bottom of the third. After Central put up two runs in the top of the fourth, Wood answered with four in its half of the inning.

    Patrick Gozdan got three RBIs, the last two on his double in the fourth. Chris Ortlip finished with two RBIs and two runs scored.

    Springfield (Montco) 12, New Hope-Solebury 0 (5): Springfield scored five runs in the beginning and then added five more in the fourth in a in an SOL Freedom win.

    Owen Hastings got two hits in four at-bats with a triple, an RBI and three runs scored while Mike Capoferri went two hits in three at-bats with a double two RBIs and a run for the Spartans. Chris Cahill got two hits in four at-bats with three runs scored, Nathan Levy got two hits in three at-bats with two runs and Max May was two hits in four at-bats with an RBI.

    Cheltenham 6, Lower Moreland 3: Corey Bradley had a successful game with two doubles, three RBIs and a run for Cheltenham in their SOL Freedom win.

    Jack Haugen had two triples and a run, while Finn Kopp had a double, RBI and two runs for the Panthers. The team scored four runs in the first and added two more in the third to take a 6-1 lead.

    Emile Chanoine, Sam Batiancila, and Arthur Gordon each had multiple hits and runs for Cheltenham.

    Lower Moreland's James Cronin and Xavier Gonzales both had strong performances, with Cronin scoring two runs and Gonzales getting an RBI. Mason Tammaro and Drew Dorval also had multiple hits.

    Upper Merion 12, Pottsgrove 8: David Peck made significant contributions with a double, five RBIs and two runs for Upper Merion as they secured a PAC Frontier win.

    Upper Merion took a 7-4 lead with a six-run fifth inning. Pottsgrove scored two in the sixth, but Upper Merion responded with six runs in their half of the inning to go up 12-6.

    Sean Rogers had a strong game with three hits and two runs, while Andrew Prendergast had two RBIs and a run for Upper Merion.

    Pope John Paul II 10, Phoenixville 3: Pope John Paul II broke a 1-1 tie by scoring three runs in the fourth, then extended their lead to 8-1 with four runs in the fifth.

    AJ Diaddezio had a double, triple and two RBIs, Chase Frantz had a double and a run, Jimmy Kenning had three RBIs, and TJ Boccella had two RBIs and scored twice for the Golden Panthers.

    Bobby Gray scored a run for Phoenixville.

    Faith Christian 15, Renaissance Academy 0 (3): In Faith Christian’s victory, Reid Miller and Jayden Spencer both hit two doubles, while Kendri Beltre got a triple, two RBIs and three runs.

    Miller and Spencer both got an RBI and scored three runs, while Jagger Verbit and Dylan Roberts both had two RBIs and scored two runs.

    Softball

    Dock Mennonite 7, Gwynedd Mercy 6: Gwynedd Mercy tied the non-league game 5-5 with five runs in the fifth, but Dock responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning and held on for the win.

    Dana Delamater had three hits including a double, triple, two RBIs and a run for Dock, while Erin Miles had two hits including a double and a run.

    GMA’s Jenna Morrison had three hits with an RBI and run, and Alexa Weiss had two hits including a double, two RBIs and a run.

    Upper Dublin 11, Wissahickon 1: Bella Fiore had three hits, while Kate Brannigan, Kaitlyn Zacharia and Kaitlin Small each had two in the Cardinals' win.

    Brannigan contributed three RBIs, including a two-run home run. Kyla Garrison pitched five innings for UD, allowing just one unearned run.

    Pope John Paul II 16, Phoenixville 4: In the Golden Panthers win, Lexi DiBricida pitched six innings and did not allow any earned runs. Charlie Hallman had three hits with three RBIs, and Kelly Murphy had three hits with one RBI and one run.

    Hatboro-Horsham 6, Abington 2: Sydney Cassel had a perfect game with a double and an RBI, Alyssa Tooley struck out 17 and Hatboro-Horsham broke a 1-1 tie with five runs in the bottom of the fifth to earn a SOL Liberty win.

    Maya Ravi got two hits in three at-bats and scored two runs for the Hatters (10-4, 9-3). Tooley, who hit a triple, allowed two runs – both earned – on three hits and two walks in a complete-game effort.

    Sammi Clewell tied up the game for Abington (4-10, 2-10) in the third with a solo home run.

    Archbishop Wood 10, Lansdale Catholic (5): Archbishop Wood’s Maura Yoos and Parker Kraus both went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored while Jackie Cobb struck out seven in pitching a two-hit, five-inning shutout in the Vikings’ PCL victory.

    William Tennent 7, Upper Moreland 1: The SOL Freedom contest was scoreless until William Tennent plated seven runs in the top of the seventh – Morgan Kocher driving in the first two with her double – as the Panthers won their fourth straight.

    Kocher finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored for Tennent (10-5, 8-4 division).

    Mackenzie Leo led off the bottom of the seventh with a home run for Upper Moreland (12-4, 9-4). Kelly Bates went 2-for-3.

    CB South 6, CB East 1: Central Bucks South scored the first six runs – one in the top of the fourth, two in the fifth and three in the sixth – to win the SOL Colonial contest.

    Camryn Lee was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored for the Titans (10-7, 8-5 division). Keira Im went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Ella Wheeler was 2-for-3 with a run scored while Maura Fleming finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.

    Maggie Funston went 2-for-4 for Central Bucks East (4-10, 1-11).

    Lower Moreland 13, Cheltenham 0 (5): An eight-run top of the third inning helped Lower Moreland cruise to an SOL Freedom victory.

    Maddie Menchhofer hit an inside-the-park home run in the fifth in going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored for the Lions. Nina Dudek was 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs while Jordyn MacPhee went 2-for-2 with two walks, two RBIs and two runs scored.

    Girls Lacrosse

    Souderton 18, Hatboro-Horsham 9: Avery Farina and Carly Gavetti each scored five goals in Souderton’s win Thursday. Caroline Kelcy added three goals.

    Archbishop Carroll 18, Lansdale Catholic 6: Brooke Hippert scored four goals in the Patriots win Thursday while Claire Sexton added three. Rylee Farrell led LC with three goals.

    Boys Lacrosse

    Upper Merion 15, Pottsgrove 4: Justin Besz scored four goals and added an assist in the Vikings win over Pottsgrove Thursday. Upper Merion opened up an 8-1 lead in the first quarter and cruised to the finish line.

    Spring-Ford 12, Methacton 4: Michael Maro scored a goal and tallied an assist in the Warriors loss Thursday. Wyatt Stemler made 13 saves in goal.

    Pope John Paul II 14, Interboro 5: Ian Young totaled three goals and two assists in the Golden Panthers win Thursday. Brady Kleine added two goals and three assists.

    Souderton 14, Pennsbury 5: Seth Grossman scored five goals in Souderton’s win Thursday. John Martin Vince, Brody Anderson and Jaden Knize each added two goals.

    Boys Volleyball

    Pennridge 3, CB West 0: Evan Jalosinski provided 34 assists, five digs and two kills while Bryce Ammon recorded 20 kills, four blocks and a pair of aces to help Pennridge win against Central Bucks West with scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-20.

    Aaron Ladd contributed eight kills, two blocks and two aces, Logan Jalosinski achieved seven kills and 13 digs, and Chriss Cullen collected three kills and four blocks for the Rams (13-1, 12-0 SOL American). Tyler Smith added two kills, six digs and three assists, while Ethan Vo made 11 digs.

    Upper Dublin 3, Souderton 0: In Souderton’s loss Thursday, Derek Stefanowicz had seven kills and four digs. Everett Self achieved six kills and eight digs, Gio Iervolino made two kills and six blocks, and Juston Doppler made three kills and two blocks.
