Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin stated today that he got into politics not to become prime minister, but to enhance the Thai people's quality of life.
He mentioned that in the next three years, his government will do its best to achieve the goals it set at the beginning, as long as all involved parties are determined, united, and understand each other. He added that the path forward will be smoother.
He said that since taking office less than a year ago, his government has been working hard to address several issues, such as flooding, southern insurgency, agricultural price reductions, marriage equality, people's freedoms and liberties, infrastructure improvement, informal debt, and illegal narcotics.
Srettha spoke at a special conference at the Pheu Thai headquarters, summarizing his government's performance since assuming office in September last year.
Despite some unresolved problems like informal debt and illegal narcotics, the prime minister stated that his government is committed to continuing efforts to achieve the goals during the rest of its term in office.
Regarding the Pheu Thai party, Srettha mentioned that he has been working with the party for over a year and has fully understood the country's problems during field trips with party members.
He stated that the Pheu Thai party leader, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the executive committee, and all its MPs are dedicated to working for the people's benefit as a priority, and that the party's policies reflect these intentions.
