On Earth Day, Maxwell Frost, a progressive Democrat from Florida, labeled former President Trump as a danger to the planet.

In a statement initially shared with The Hill, Frost, a member of the Biden campaign’s National Advisory Board, pointed out the former president’s past remarks dismissing climate change as a deception.

Frost conveyed that Donald Trump's disbelief in the danger of climate change makes him a threat to the planet and all future generations.

He also mentioned that Trump would prioritize campaign contributions over the well-being of the American people by aligning with oil tycoons who seek to pollute the air and regress the country.

Trump recently hosted a fundraising dinner with oil executives and criticized wind energy, as reported by The Washington Post. The Washington Post reported that Trump held a fundraising dinner with oil executives and spoke against wind energy..

Biden and his allies have endeavored to underscore the noticeable contrasts between the two candidates in relation to climate change, with Trump predominantly advocating for the expansion of fossil fuels that contribute to global warming, while Biden supports renewable energy and other eco-friendly policies. Climate change also represents a point of contention between the Democratic Party’s mainstream and progressive factions, especially as Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez joined Biden on Earth Day, despite internal issues such as the Gaza conflict. This matter isn't devoid of disagreement, as progressives have critiqued some of Biden's actions, including the approval of the Willow Project, which allows oil drilling in Alaska for three decades. In his statement, Frost commended Biden for implementing and spearheading the most ambitious climate, clean energy, and environmental justice agenda in history.

Climate change is also an area of disagreement between the Democratic Party's mainstream and progressive wings, showcased by Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez’s appearance with Biden on Earth Day, amid internal tensions involving the Gaza conflict. However, even this issue is not without friction, as progressives have censured certain Biden decisions, such as the 2023 approval of the Willow Project, enabling oil drilling in Alaska for 30 years. relative agreement Biden and his allies have emphasized the stark differences in the approaches of the two candidates toward climate change, as Trump favors expanding fossil fuels that contribute to global warming and constraining environmental regulations, while Biden supports renewable energy and other environmentally friendly policies.

Frost, in his statement, lauded Biden for implementing, delivering, and spearheading the most ambitious climate, clean energy, and environmental justice agenda in history.
