A group supporting abortion rights is criticizing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as radical and unsuitable for public service regarding abortion rights, as the issue becomes prominent in the presidential election.
Reproductive Freedom for All Freedom Fund released an advertisement on Monday in Michigan and Wisconsin — two crucial states — aiming to depict the independent candidate as hesitant and potentially posing a threat to a woman’s right to choose.
The announcement, which targets young voters, is scheduled to be shown in Ann Arbor, Mich., and Madison, Wis., cities in two essential swing states where Kennedy is seeking to contend with President Biden and former President Trump. Both cities also have prominent public universities.
“He isn’t sure if he would endorse a national abortion prohibition, and he has selected a vice president who doesn’t even safeguard IVF from MAGA assaults,” the advertisement states.
The advertisement also criticizes Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, who has displayed skepticism towards IVF. outwardly doubtful of IVF.
“Kennedy Jr. and Shanahan would make us more vulnerable to dangerous abortion bans, and face more attacks on IVF. Kennedy Jr. and Shanahan would jeopardize your reproductive freedom,” the announcement states.
Kennedy is seeking to gain support from various voting groups, including individuals aged 18 to 40 years, whom the advertisement is targeting.
He recently met the requirements for Michigan’s ballot, and is also aspiring to qualify as a candidate for Wisconsin by its petition deadline in early August.
