Stop fooling around!
Four “sneaky horses” apparently got away from their pen in New Hampshire on Thursday, as local cops came and helped gather the group.
Before 10 a.m., Exeter Police officers headed to Drinkwater Road after the horses had escaped, and were investigating their neighbor’s land.
“They just kept fleeing, so I went to the stable and got some horse food,” said Officer Arthur Joseph. “I started shaking it and they came to me.
“Once I got the food it was easy, but at first they kept running further down the person’s property,” he added.
The food apparently did the trick. Within about 15 minutes, the officers were able to successfully guide the horses back home — and the cops made sure they were properly contained while the owner was on the way.
The horse escape was a first for Sgt. Joseph Byron, who has spent two decades in law enforcement. He said public safety was the top concern.
Byron added, “We were worried that they were going to run into the roadway, but once we got them contained they seemed to follow the lead of Officer Joseph and that lead horse.”
