SOFTBALL
North Penn 14, Central Bucks East 0 (5) >> Bella Nunn struck out 13 batters — including the last 12 she faced — in pitching a five-inning perfect game and also hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth inning as North Penn won a SOL Colonial Division victory Monday.
Casey Sokol hit a solo home run in the fifth while going 2-for-3 with five RBIs and a run scored for the Knights (6-1, 3-1), who won their fifth straight.
Nunn got three RBIs with Gianna Cimino going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored.
North Penn scored three runs in both the first and second innings, plated five in the third, then tacked on three more in the fifth.
Central Bucks South 3, Souderton 2 >> Ella Wheeler broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the third with an RBI double, and Central Bucks South held on to edge visiting Souderton.
Wheeler also doubled in the fifth, finishing 2-for-3 for the Titans (3-3, 2-1 SOL Colonial). Riley Theis struck out seven in a complete-game pitching effort, allowing two runs – both unearned – on five hits and two walks.
Souderton took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an error, while an error by the Indians allowed South to bring in two runs in the bottom of the inning. Souderton pulled even 2-2 by scoring on a passed ball in the second.
BASEBALL
Central Bucks East 14, North Penn 3 (5) >> Chase Fulford hit three-run home runs in both the third and fourth innings and finished with seven RBIs as Central Bucks East cruised to a five-inning SOL Colonial win at Hostelley Field.
Fulford, who also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the first, went 2-for-3, and scored twice while Jack Mislan was 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs, and two runs scored for the Patriots (4-2, 3-0 division).
East starting pitcher Sam Bliss allowed just one hit in four shutout innings, walking one and striking out two.
The Patriots took a 3-0 lead in the first, scored six in the third, then made it 14-0 with a five-run fourth.
Ben Farley and Chase Jones each had an RBI double for North Penn (5-1, 3-1), which scored all of its runs in the fifth.
La Salle 10, Archbishop Wood 3 >> La Salle took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, extending its advantage to 7-0 after three frames, and topped visiting Archbishop Wood for a PCL win.
Aimon Chandler went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored for the Explorers, while Jake McNesby went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
David Vozzo finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored, with Ronnie Raby going 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored.
