    Reporter/Times Herald Sports Roundup (April 8): North Penn softball’s Bella Nunn pitches a perfect game in a five-inning win over Central Bucks East

    SOFTBALL

    North Penn 14, Central Bucks East 0 (5) >> Bella Nunn struck out 13 batters — including the last 12 she faced — in pitching a five-inning perfect game and also hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth inning as North Penn won a SOL Colonial Division victory Monday.

    Casey Sokol hit a solo home run in the fifth while going 2-for-3 with five RBIs and a run scored for the Knights (6-1, 3-1), who won their fifth straight.

    Nunn got three RBIs with Gianna Cimino going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored.

    North Penn scored three runs in both the first and second innings, plated five in the third, then tacked on three more in the fifth.

    Central Bucks South 3, Souderton 2 >> Ella Wheeler broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the third with an RBI double, and Central Bucks South held on to edge visiting Souderton.

    Wheeler also doubled in the fifth, finishing 2-for-3 for the Titans (3-3, 2-1 SOL Colonial). Riley Theis struck out seven in a complete-game pitching effort, allowing two runs – both unearned – on five hits and two walks.

    Souderton took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an error, while an error by the Indians allowed South to bring in two runs in the bottom of the inning. Souderton pulled even 2-2 by scoring on a passed ball in the second.

    BASEBALL

    Central Bucks East 14, North Penn 3 (5) >> Chase Fulford hit three-run home runs in both the third and fourth innings and finished with seven RBIs as Central Bucks East cruised to a five-inning SOL Colonial win at Hostelley Field.

    Fulford, who also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the first, went 2-for-3, and scored twice while Jack Mislan was 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs, and two runs scored for the Patriots (4-2, 3-0 division).

    East starting pitcher Sam Bliss allowed just one hit in four shutout innings, walking one and striking out two.

    The Patriots took a 3-0 lead in the first, scored six in the third, then made it 14-0 with a five-run fourth.

    Ben Farley and Chase Jones each had an RBI double for North Penn (5-1, 3-1), which scored all of its runs in the fifth.

    La Salle 10, Archbishop Wood 3 >> La Salle took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, extending its advantage to 7-0 after three frames, and topped visiting Archbishop Wood for a PCL win.

    Aimon Chandler went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored for the Explorers, while Jake McNesby went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

    David Vozzo finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored, with Ronnie Raby going 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored.

    BOYS LACROSSE

    North Penn 7, Neshaminy 4 >> Caiden Myers scored two goals and had an assist, Emerson Morelli scored twice, and North Penn held off Neshaminy to claim a SOL National win.

    Jayden Devenport, Conor Sullivan, and Luigi Cardone each added a goal for the Knights, who led 5-1 at halftime. Neshaminy pulled to within 6-4 after three quarters but North Penn tallied the lone goal of the fourth.

    Connor Howard saved nine shots for the Knights while Jake Lageveld made one save. Joe Morrow won 8 out of 13 faceoffs.

    GIRLS LACROSSE

    Upper Dublin won against Plymouth Whitemarsh with a score of 11 to 5. Upper Dublin scored 8 goals and allowed 2 in the first half, then won their SOL American Conference opener to stay undefeated, with Paige Dinkel, Anna DiMartile, and Bridget DiMartile each scoring three goals.

    Anna DiMartile provided three assists, Dinkel contributed an assist, and Ava Shohen scored a goal and made two assists for the Cardinals (6-0, 1-0). Lily Buckius scored a goal and goalkeeper Erin Darcy saved five shots.

    Meghan Wendler and Matte Jayo each scored two goals for Plymouth Whitemarsh, while Sophia Gartland also scored a goal.

    Central Bucks South won against Souderton with a score of 19 to 12. Addison Geary scored eight goals for Central Bucks South while Brooke Cenci added four more to help the Titans win an SOL National victory.

    Tessa Walls scored three goals and provided an assist, Avery Curtis scored three times, and Kaylee Conner contributed a goal for South, who led 13-5 at halftime.

    Souderton’s Caroline Kelcy scored three goals, Avery Farina scored two goals and provided two assists, and others also contributed to the team's performance.

    Carley Gavetti scored a goal and secured four draw controls for the Indians. Anah Petrovich scored a goal, and goalie Nicole Kleckner saved 11 shots.

    Archbishop Carroll defeated Villa Maria with a score of 18 to 5. Chloe Bleckley scored four goals and secured six draw controls, while Sienna Golden scored three goals, provided an assist, and secured six draw controls, as Archbishop Carroll secured a non-league victory against Villa Maria.

    Claire Sexton and Sam Hewitt both scored three goals and provided an assist, with Sexton also securing a draw control for the Patriots (5-0, 1-0 PCL), who led 7-1 after the first quarter and 12-3 at halftime.

    Greta Potten scored a goal, provided an assist and secured two draw controls, Katie O’Neill added a goal, an assist, and a draw control, and others also contributed to the team's performance. Ava Farrand, Kaylee Clark, Brooke Hippert each scored a goal, and goalkeeper Mei Rader saved three shots.

    Several players scored a goal for Villa Maria. Goalies Quinn Hechler and Joey Early saved five and two shots, respectively.

    BOYS VOLLEYBALL

    Souderton won a five-set non-league match against Lower Merion, with a score of 3 to 2. Souderton won against Lower Merion in a five-set non-league match, with Derek Stefanowicz scoring 11 kills and securing 10 digs.

    Everett Self scored eight kills and secured seven digs, Justin Doppler scored eight kills and two blocks, and other players also contributed to the team's performance.
