Both she and the driver, also believed to be elderly, sustained no injuries in the dramatic crash.
Emergency services were summoned to Belmont Road, Twickenham at about 5pm after a car crashed into a house.
An individual, who chose to remain unidentified, explained: 'I heard she was attempting to park but being elderly, perhaps mistakenly hit the wrong button.
'Fortunately, no one was hurt.'
Others described the 'chaos' as police cars, ambulances, and fire engineers all arrived at the scene.
Another woman, also wishing to stay anonymous, remarked: 'I suddenly heard sirens and saw all these flashing lights,
I went outside and it was unbelievable. The car had gone right through into the house.
'It's a miracle everyone was okay.'
A week later, the car is still inside the property, which has been boarded up in the quiet cul-de-sac, with the area cordoned off.
Remnants from the crash still lie on the ground outside the woman's home, which is still cordoned off by the police.
Vine, a TV presenter and avid cyclist, posted on X: 'This happened a few miles from my house last week and it's not even been on the local news'.
