A section of a beach has been closed off because an unexploded bomb was found.
Dog walkers found the bomb on Widemouth Beach in Cornwall earlier today.
A bomb disposal unit from Plymouth has been sent to investigate, according to a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police. Metro.co.uk.
A spokesperson for the police said: 'Someone from the public found what we think is an unexploded bomb this morning.
‘Police are at the location and the beach is the only area closed off. No buildings have been closed off.
‘A bomb disposal unit is coming to handle it and we are waiting for them to arrive.’
It has only been a few days since more than 3,000 homes in Plymouth were evacuated after a World War II bomb was found in a woman’s backyard.
The unexploded bomb was carefully moved through the narrow streets of the town before being taken out to sea and exploded.
