Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) wants to move on from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.)’s effort to oust him from his position.

Last Thursday, Johnson said in an interview with “FOX and Friends” that he doesn't hold grudges and wants to work with everyone, including Greene.

When asked how Greene reacted, Johnson suggested that they will have the opportunity to move forward.

The House voted to block the attempt led by Greene to boot Johnson from the Speakership on Wednesday. voted to block an attempt led by Greene to boot Johnson from the Speakership. The final vote was 359-43-7, with 196 Republicans and 163 Democrats choosing to save Johnson.

Democrats indicated they would provide votes to help Johnson, but this could cause trouble for the Speaker, who is now being supported by Democrats as a GOP Speaker.

Greene’s motion was widely criticized by Republicans, who argued that it was an unnecessary diversion highlighting their internal disputes.

Johnson stated, “We have to get the job done.” He emphasized the need to tackle serious challenges and work towards the party's goals.

Greene had threatened to move forward with the motion to vacate against Johnson for weeks, citing his decision to support various bills with Democratic backing.

The two Republicans met for hours earlier this week, during which Greene presented a list of demands to the Speaker.

When asked if he believes Greene is a “serious legislator” following their meetings, Johnson said, “Look, I’m going to let other people judge Marjorie. I’ve got to work with all my colleagues here. I’m not mad at anybody.”

Johnson expressed his appreciation to colleagues who helped defeat what he called a “misguided effort.”

Johnson stressed the need to advance conservative policies and principles despite the challenges of gaining support from a small majority. He acknowledged that it’s not always feasible to meet every demand from colleagues.
