More than 100 people were arrested as protesters and police clashed at Emerson College in Boston

Over 100 individuals were taken into custody following a demonstration in support of Palestine that erupted at Emerson College overnight.

According to Boston police, 108 individuals were arrested during the unrest at Emerson College. Four police officers sustained injuries, including three minor and one serious, although none were life-threatening.

Police reported no injuries among the detained protesters, who will face charges in Boston Municipal Court.

Local outlet WCVB reported the protest occurred in Boylston Place Alley, where a camp was established. The alley, a fire lane not exclusively owned by the college, had a public right of way requirement.

Emerson College canceled classes on Thursday in response to the turmoil, as reported by the outlet.

Activists have established Pro-Palestinian encampments at various schools nationwide, urging their institutions to advocate for a Gaza ceasefire and to divest their endowments from companies associated with Israel.

Numerous students have been detained as colleges wrestle with how to handle the protests.

On Wednesday at the University of Texas in Austin, state police arrested over 50 protesters.

The Hill has contacted Emerson College for a statement.
