Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) criticized Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) for her threat to remove House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), saying that doing so would make foreign enemies like China, Russia, and Iran more confident and aggressive.
Moskowitz expressed on “Fox News Sunday” that the attempt to remove the Speaker of the House by Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), and Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) would give China, Russia, and Iran more confidence.
Greene, along with Massie and Gosar, supported ousting Johnson over his handling of Ukraine aid and government spending, which Moskowitz believes would benefit foreign adversaries. The potential ouster remains uncertain as Greene has not pushed for a vote or clarified the conditions for doing so.
During an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” anchor Shannon Bream asked Moskowitz for his reaction to Greene’s criticism of increased Ukraine aid without addressing the situation at the U.S.-southern border following the House’s passage of a large foreign aid bill.
Moskowitz discredited Greene as a serious legislator and accused her of being Putin’s special envoy to Congress. He argued that criticizing others for not respecting America while opposing actions to strengthen the country is disrespectful to America.
In a bipartisan vote, the House passed a foreign aid package that includes funding for Ukraine, Israel, allies in the Indo-Pacific, and other security measures, such as a potential ban on the TikTok app.
The package is now headed to the Senate, which is likely to approve it later in the week.
Following the bill’s passage, Greene criticized it as a betrayal of America, citing the waving of Ukrainian flags by members of Congress while not addressing border security.
Greene made reference to lawmakers who displayed Ukrainian flags on the House floor on Saturday.
Moskowitz and Greene have been in conflict recently, including Moskowitz's previous comment about naming Greene as Putin’s envoy due to her frequent promotion of pro-Russia misinformation and opposition to foreign aid. he first quipped, he was naming Greene as Putin’s envoy for her frequent embrace of pro-Russia misinformation and opposition to foreign aid.
