Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is getting a lot of support from well-known individuals and public figures after revealing her cancer diagnosis.

On Friday evening (March 22), Kate shared a video message with the world, confirming that she is getting chemotherapy as part of her treatment after cancer was discovered following her abdominal surgery.

In her statement, Kate, 42, confirmed that, at the time of her operation at the London Clinic on January 16, her condition was thought to be non-cancerous.

However, biopsy results later showed that cancer was present, doctors said.

Kate thanked the public for their well wishes as she assured people she is going to be ‘ok’.

In response, TV personalities, presenters, and pundits took to social media to share heartfelt messages, while also criticizing the speculation over Kate’s whereabouts.

Dan Walker shared a photo of her on Instagram, adding in his caption: ‘What a tough time for the royal family. I am sure Kate, like the king, will have the best possible care and I hope she is ok.

‘I hope that ends the conspiracy theories and she gets the privacy she has asked for.’

Gary Lineker wrote on X: ‘Awful news. Wishing The Princess of Wales a full recovery.’

Addressing the breaking news on tonight’s episode of The One Show, hosts Clara Amfo and Roman Kemp began with: ‘Like everyone, we’re still taking in the news about the Princess of Wales, which she’s announced so powerfully and personally in her own words.’

Kemp added: ‘Our thoughts are very much with the Princess and the rest of her family, and we wish her well for her recovery.’

Amanda Holden posted: ‘Wishing the Princess of Wales a speedy recovery and pray this announcement satisfies the bloody thirsty mob who really need to shut up and leave her alone’.

Daytime TV presenter Lorraine Kelly echoed: ‘Sending love – brave woman. Shame on all of the trolls who were vile to her’.

Good Morning Britain’s Alex Beresford posted: ‘Incredibly sad news that the Princess of Wales has cancer. I hope she gets the space she needs to get better x’.

Joining him, ITV’s This Morning posted a joint message from their team, which includes the likes of Cat Deely, Ben Shephard, Alison Hammond, and Dermot O’Leary.

‘Everyone at This Morning sends their love and best wishes to the Princess of Wales and her family as she announces she is being treated for cancer’, they wrote, urging viewers to visit itv.com/helplines for support.

Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden showed her support for Kate, writing: ‘The news has hit me personally pretty hard. Thinking of our Princess’.

The beloved Welsh dancer was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer last May, but now, thankfully, there is no longer any evidence of disease in her body.

Comedian Judi Love – also a former Strictly contestant – wrote: ‘Weeks of speculation and constant gossip and Princess Kate is dealing with having Cancer. Honestly if people don’t learn from this to give people their space and privacy I don’t know!! Wishing her a speedy recovery’.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak issued a long statement, sharing his thoughts with the Princess and the Royal Family.

‘The Princess of Wales has the love and support of the entire country as she continues her healing,’ he said. ‘She has shown great courage with her statement today.’

Sunak proceeded to talk about the ‘intense scrutiny’ Kate has been under, as well as the ‘unfair treatment’ of her on social media.

‘When it comes to health matters, like everyone else, she must be given the privacy to focus on her treatment and be with her loving family,’ he stated.

‘I know I speak for the whole country in hoping for her complete and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back in action when she’s ready.’

‘Our thoughts are with the entire Royal Family as they come to terms with the news and as they support The Princess of Wales through her treatment and recovery.’

The Princess’s personal video message providing an update on her health and cancer treatment was accompanied by a statement from a Palace spokesperson.

It said: ‘Their Royal Highnesses understand the interest this update will generate and are thankful for the public support they have received throughout this period.

‘Kensington Palace will provide information, when the time is appropriate, and the princess is able to restart work and her duties.

‘In the meantime, we would ask that the family’s privacy is respected.’

Kate was seen in public with her family on Christmas Day 2023, before undergoing surgery weeks later.
