Jenny Platt surprises people by revealing she is married to another well-known actor from Coronation Street

Coronation Street’s Jenny Platt has amazed us by mentioning that she married another actor from the show.

Jenny is most famous for playing the character of Violet Wilson in the soap. ITV soap, who is Dylan’s (Liam McCheyne) mum.

She recently returned to Weatherfield after hearing about Dylan’s involvement in a group of bullies.

Upon her arrival, Violet expressed anger towards Dylan’s father Sean (Antony Cotton) for his poor parenting and placed the responsibility on him – instructing Dylan to move back to London to live with her.

Unable to be persuaded, Violet got into a taxi with her son and headed for the train station.

Noticing Sean’s emotional state, Eileen (Sue Cleaver) reassured him that he could continue living with her for the time being as he needed his family around.

Jenny's latest Instagram post was about family, as she shared a photo of her husband Rupert Hill when he was younger, who also happens to be Jamie Baldwin from the show!

The picture showed Jamie from an episode of Classic Corrie. Describing the post, Jenny wrote: ‘Well well well, look who’s appeared on classic corrie! What a troublemaker that Jamie Baldwin was eh? (Reader, I married him).’

Rupert played Jamie from 2004-2008. At the end of his time on the cobbles, he left with Violet and a young Dylan to start a new life in London.

However, in 2011, the couple’s relationship ended.

Talking about her recent return, Jenny confessed that she was ‘very, very scared’ to step back into Violet’s shoes: ‘It was such a massive part of my life and one that I absolutely adored and genuinely loved every minute of being there’.

‘Even though it’s a different building, it’s still got the exact same kind of family vibe that it always had’ she added. ‘I’ve never felt like “oh yeah, that’s it, I want to put that character to bed”, I’ve always found Violet really lovely to play, she’s got heart and she’s warm but she’s made a lot of mistakes so I always feel like she’s one of us.’

‘And of course, I’d love to see what she could get up to if Dylan was getting into more trouble.’
