James Bond star Sir Jonathan Pryce has given his support for Aaron Taylor-Johnson to play the next 007.
This week, there was a lot of excitement among Bond fans when it was reported that Aaron, 33, had been offered a contract to portray the famous character.
This generated significant excitement as it was the closest thing to confirming who would replace Daniel Craigas the charming spy — and even after a later denial that he had been offered the role, the buzz continued.
The host of Good Morning Britain, Ed Balls, even sparked a new discussion by commenting on Aaron’s long hair, saying that it does not fit the spy image and he would need to smarten up. However, on Wednesday, Bond star Sir Jonathan, known for his role as villain Elliot Carver in Tomorrow Never Dies, dismissed the idea as 'ridiculous'.
When asked by Susanna Reid about whether his long hair would hinder him, Sir Jonathan stated that it was a 'ridiculous' notion.

‘Look at him now, he’s black tie, handsome, and yes, he’d be a great Bond.’
The veteran actor joked: ‘It’s interesting he’s being talked about Bond because even [as a young teenager] he was quite the ladies’ man.’
And Susanna added that he had his own ‘Bond girl’ in wife Sam Taylor-Johnson, 57.
Sir Jonathan previously worked with Aaron on BBC drama Sherlock Holmes And The Baker Street Irregulars, with Sir Jonathan playing the titular detective and Aaron, a teenager at the time, playing side character Finch.

The source went on to claim to The Sun that, once that contract was signed the next installment of the spy movie would begin shooting later this year.

He’s got the backing of a Bond icon already.
