Raheem Sterling’s views on possibly departing during the Chelsea in the summer transfer window has been disclosed after his FA Cup difficult time on Sunday.
Sterling had a hard time in the 4-2 victory over Leicester City and the England player was booed by his own supporters after being substituted at Stamford Bridge.
The 29-year-old failed to convert a penalty in the first half and Mauricio Pochettino had to support his player after the quarter-final win.
Sterling made the move to Chelsea from Manchester City for £47.5m less than two years ago and there have been suggestions that he might already be on the way out.
There is interest from teams in the Saudi Pro League but according to The Independent, Sterling is planning to reject any offers from them as he has no desire to leave Chelsea and is committed to winning over Blues fans.
Sterling is believed to be eager to achieve major trophies with the west London club and remains content at the club despite his difficult weekend.
He has ‘privately acknowledged’ that his performance against Leicester was poor, according to reports.
Sterling has amassed a total of 74 appearances for Chelsea so far, contributing 17 goals and 14 assists.
He issued an apology after the win over Leicester and said: ‘To all the Chelsea fans, apologies for the penalty miss.
‘I’ll be back 10x times stronger to help the team win and continue to keep fighting for the badge every single day. Let’s go Blues.’
