A WWE A fan has faced harsh criticism online for taking his affection for Rhea Ripley too far.
Fans enjoy obtaining a memento from their favorite stars, such as an autograph, setlist, or clothing item, if they are lucky enough to meet them.
However, one social media user has been heavily criticized after admitting to keeping a piece of world champion Rhea’s used chewing gum after a recent show.
The morning after Friday Night SmackDown, the fan tweeted: ‘I’m gonna be judged hard for this but oh well 🤣. Last night @RheaRipley_WWE spat her gum out & it landed in the ring.
‘Then later on @CodyRhodes was making his way around ringside for pics/autographs. I asked him if I could have Rhea’s gum & yep… 🤣🤣🤣 (No I did not chew it)’
Rhea, who beat Natalya and Shayna Baszler after SmackDown went off air, has actually ‘liked’ the tweet but, not surprisingly, fans have blasted the individual for the bizarre request, with plenty of people calling it ‘gross’ and ‘nasty’.
‘Some of yall are sick nasty depraved individuals,’ wrote X user @DreamSooner, while fan @SportsStooge101 added: ‘Very weird behaviour..’

‘I could’ve lived my life not knowing about this,’ admitted @theMiamiSunset, while @tallawah12 tweeted: ‘This is nasty. Wrestling fans are a different type of weirdos.’
Others actually admitted they might have done the same, with some people even praising Cody for getting caught up in the moment and fulfilling the unusual request.
Rhea also ‘liked’ another reply joking that the fan is ‘holding at MINIMUM $765 in their hand’, referencing a fan paying over £400 for a piece of paper licked and autographed by the Women’s World Champion.
‘I know my fans,’ the Judgment Day leader said back in November 2023 as she shared photos of herself licking the paper and the autograph itself. ‘You’re welcome 😈’
Meanwhile, Rhea put her critics on blast over the weekend as she called out hypocritical trolls for the way they talk about her online.
She tweeted: ‘“RhEa OnLy GoT tO wHeRe She Is BeCaUsE sHe’S hOt”. *not even 6 months ago* “RhEa LoOkS lIkE a MaN”. You guys are the funniest 🤣 And yes, I’m laughing AT you not WITH you.’
Rhea is highly regarded as one of WWE’s top superstars, and she’s set to defend her championship against rival Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia early next month.
She’s well known for always getting a reaction out of her passionate fanbase, and she previously admitted she loves being a ‘menace’ to her supporters.
‘Being a menace is the one thing I really enjoy doing, so I’m loving every second of it picking on everyone,’ she exclusively informed Metro.co.uk. ‘I enjoy it a lot, I truly do.
‘I take pleasure in every moment – especially knowing how agitated everyone’s going to be about it. That just motivates me to be more mischievous in a way! [laughs] But yeah, I love what I do, I am enjoying it!’
