Former Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), the first leader of No Labels, mentioned that the political group could introduce its candidates for the presidential ticket in spring.
“We won't declare candidates today, but we are going to declare candidates this spring, perhaps as early as March 21,” Lieberman shared in a CNN interview clip. mentioned in a segment of a CNN interview shared Thursday on X, the platform previously named Twitter.
No Labels recently officially determined to move forward with its ticket after a private meeting where numerous state delegates met and committed to proceed with a bid for the White House.
“Earlier today, I led a conversation with the 800 No Labels delegates from all 50 states. These citizen leaders have spent months discussing with one another the kind of leadership they want to see in the White House in 2024,” No Labels National Convention Chair Mike Rawlings wrote in a statement.
In the CNN interview, Lieberman remarked that it is time to “find the best bipartisan unity ticket we can provide the American people as the third option they strongly desire because they do not want to have to choose again between [former President Trump] and [President Biden].
Lieberman commented in December that the frustration among Americans towards the Republican and Democratic parties is unmatched in his experience.
“I’ve never seen this much anger at the two major parties,” Lieberman said in a conversation with radio host John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM. “And this high a disappointment about the fact that we may be left with a choice of Presidents Trump and Biden, once again.”
