South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem (R) uploaded a nearly five-minute video on Monday night lauding the services provided by cosmetic dentists in Texas.
Noem stated at the start of the video, “I’m the governor of South Dakota and had the opportunity to come to Smile Texas to fix my teeth, which has been absolutely amazing.” of the video.
The video follows a commercial-style format, showing close-ups of Noem’s teeth, before and after images of her smile, and dentists working with a patient. Noem mentions that she had a virtual consultation with Smile Texas, a clinic near Houston, years ago but was unable to schedule the work until now.
She mentioned that her teeth required an “adjustment” due to a biking accident that occurred years ago.
“The team here was remarkable and finally gave me a smile that I can be proud of and confident in, and that really is a gift that I think is going to be incredibly special to have. You know I think that I chose the team here at Smile Texas because they’re the best,” she said.
Smile Texas also showcases Noem on its website in its “Smile Gallery.” It includes a before and after photo of her smile. It’s not evident why she decided to post the lengthy video, which seems to be promoting Smile Texas, or why she chose to have the work done in Texas instead of South Dakota.
The Hill has reached out to the governor’s office and Smile Texas for a comment on the video.
Noem has been mentioned as a potential running mate for former President Trump, who became the presumptive Republican presidential nominee on Tuesday night. She had endorsed the former president for the White House in September.
