Former President Trump jabbed at ABC News following the announcement of Kim Godwin's departure as the network's president.
“I'm pleased to say that Kim Godwin, ABC's Head, has stepped down,” Trump stated on his Truth Social website shortly after the news came out. “Could it be the biased reporting on EVERYTHING TRUMP? In any case, GOOD RIDDANCE! Hopefully someone else will be able to control George Slopadopolous and the other Fake News Thugs at ABC? Best wishes Kim!”
Godwin, in a message to ABC News staff, explained that she had made the decision to leave, stating, “I’m sure it’s the right decision for me as I look to the future and prioritize what’s most important for me and my family.”
The network’s president for the last three years had faced a steady stream of news reports critical of her leadership and management style in the weeks leading up to her ouster.
Trump has regularly mocked mainstream media outlets like ABC for what he perceives as unfair coverage of him.
ABC News is owned by Disney, which Trump and other leading conservatives have accused of promoting “woke” ideology and hostility toward conservative ideas and political causes.
