Noni Madueke has been criticized for laughing with Jack Grealish while Thiago Silva was crying after Chelsea’s loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team missed several good chances at Wembley, and Manchester City won 1-0 with a goal from Bernardo Silva in the 84th minute. They will face either Manchester United or Coventry City in the FA Cup final next month.
The loss at Wembley means Thiago Silva’s final season at Chelsea is unlikely to end with a trophy.
Thiago Silva was emotional after the game, being comforted by Conor Gallagher and wiping away tears with his shirt.
But Chelsea supporters were upset to see Madueke apparently laughing with Grealish right behind the Brazilian defender.
Madueke has previously faced heavy criticism from Chelsea fans for trying to take penalties away from Cole Palmer.
Chelsea fans were angry with the winger’s reaction after their loss in the FA Cup semi-final.
One Chelsea fan posted on X: ‘Look at Madueke. Silva is crying because he’s hurt and you’re sitting there laughing.
‘The fans traveled to watch you play, you had a poor performance & you think it’s a good time to laugh after missing out on an FA Cup final? Get out of our club.’
Another Chelsea fan posted: ‘I’m furious at this video. Madueke was pushing his own teammates in the last game out of ‘passion’ for wanting to take a penalty.
‘Now he’s laughing just 30 seconds after a semi-final loss. He’s a joke of a player.’
