A large road was shut down for a while because someone brought an explosive to a gas station.
Specialists in handling bombs were called to the Ron Perry service station on the A19 near Hartlepool, between the A689 Wolverston and the A179.
It's not confirmed yet, but there are reports that it's a hand grenade.
The police said they shut the road at about 4pm on Wednesday, and they said the road opened again shortly before 7pm.
The local fire department also came to help.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: ‘The A19, which was closed around the Hartlepool area while EOD colleagues dealt with an explosive device, has re-opened.
‘The device was disposed of in a controlled explosion on nearby farmland.
‘Thanks to all motorists and other emergency services/partners for your support.’
There were big delays on nearby roads as the closure lasted until rush hour, and alternative routes have been marked with signs..
