Curtis Jones and Andy Robertson are healthy and ready to play for Liverpool when they face Sheffield United on Thursday, but the trio of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota are all still in recovery from injury.
Jones has been out of action since he hurt his ankle against Brentford on 17 February, but he has been training and is available for the squad this week.
The midfielder has been impressive this season, with 17 Premier League appearances, so his return will be a welcome development for Klopp as the Reds continue to compete for the title.
However, Jota, Alexander-Arnold and Alisson are still not ready, and the German said the three are aiming to return to team training next week.
The Portuguese forward and the English full-back are dealing with knee injuries, while the Brazilian goalkeeper is recovering from a hamstring issue.
‘Curtis is training, he's in contention. Yes, that's pretty much it,’ Klopp stated at a press conference on Wednesday.
‘The boys are progressing well, Diogo and Trent are training together, but it seems like they will only join in parts of team training next week. No Ali, he's looking good, but mentally as well, he will be part of team training next week.’
When asked if Robertson is available for the game against the Blades on Thursday evening, Klopp confirmed that the Scotland star is in contention.
Dealing with Liverpool’s long injury list, Klopp also confirmed that Stefan Bajcetic is close to returning and Joel Matip is running again, but is not expected to play again this season.
‘Stefan Bajcetic has completed full training with the U21s this week and will train with the senior team next week,’ he said.
‘He's running. This is the best moment since he got injured, as it was very painful, but he got through it, although it all takes time. The season isn't long enough.’
