Kate Middleton had to share that she has cancer after her medical records were exposed, a new report says

Charles' illness comes at a awkward time, as his daughter in law, the Princess of Wales, has also had her own health issues, having recently been hospitalized for two weeks following abdominal surgery following at the private London clinic. Kate Middleton had no choice but to make her cancer diagnosis public after someone leaked her medical records, according to a recent report.

The Princess of Wales announced that she is receiving 'preventative chemotherapy' for an unknown type of cancer in a video message to the nation on March 22, after much speculation about her health.

But Kensington Palace reportedly acted quickly to get in front of the news after someone accessed the Princesses' medical records, a royal source told the Daily Mail.

The royal couple had been informed about Kate's diagnosis, leaving them with no choice but to go public with the story, as reported by Ephrain Hardcastle in a column.

It's unclear who is to blame for the leak, or whether the information was obtained during Kate's stay at the London Clinic for abdominal surgery in January or elsewhere.

The Princess of Wales finally made her diagnosis public after social media became filled with conspiracy theories and rumors about her health following her extended absence from the public view.

This came after earlier speculation that she had withheld her condition from the public to give her children time to process the news.

The type of cancer has not been revealed but the future Queen is reportedly in good spirits and has a positive outlook on her recovery, describing herself as 'getting stronger every day.'

King Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer in February, is said to be 'proud' of his 'beloved' daughter-in-law for her 'courage' in discussing her treatment, and has stayed in close contact with her over the past few weeks.
