Hillary Clinton advised voters distressed about having to choose between President Biden and former President Trump to move past their own feelings on Monday.
“Stop being self-centered,” said Clinton responded, in response to comedian Jimmy Fallon's question about what she would tell upset voters regarding the 2024 presidential election, during his late-night NBC show on Monday, as reported by Mediaite.
“Those are the two options,” added Clinton.
Clinton then went on to contrast the candidates, acknowledging that they were both “elderly.”
“One is elderly but effective and empathetic, with a caring heart and genuine concern for people,” she described Biden.
The other, she mentioned, “is elderly and has been accused of 91 felonies,” seemingly referring to the legal woes legal challenges that Trump has faced and continues to face.
Clinton, who was Trump’s rival in the 2016 presidential election, previously criticized the former president for his legal troubles, stating that he was the “only person who could say they were better off four years ago,” in a post Twitter post last month.
Clinton said, “After facing multiple charges and half a billion dollars in civil liability, pretty much the only individual who can say they were better off four years ago is Donald Trump.”
Trump is currently ahead of Biden by 0.8 percent, based on polling averages from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, with 45.3 percent and 44.5 percent, respectively.
Clinton is reportedly set hosting a Broadway-themed fundraiser with “Hamilton” star Lin-Manuel Miranda on Wednesday, which will coincide with a performance of “Suffs: The Musical,” a show that the former secretary of state is co-producing.
