April Fool’s Day is back and as unamusing as usual, especially as this year is filled with ‘jokes’ that you’ll wish were actually true.
The least funny day of the year is here once again and as usual video game companies can’t resist the urge of April Fool’s Day, and an excuse for strangely elaborate ‘pranks’.
This year in particular there’s hardly any attempt to make them seem believable or amusing, although the Pokémon Sleep one is at least trying. There’s nothing as good as last year’s Sonic the Hedgehog murder mystery game Below are some of the best/worst attempts at tricking gullible gamers, but just remember that none of them are real… except the ones that are. though.
Resident Evil 1 remake
Categorize this one under jokes which might actually become true, if only by accident. Twitter user EvilVR posted an image for a(nother) remake of 1996’s
Resident Evil , which he pretended to have datamined.Although it already had one remake in 2002, many have speculated that it will get another once Capcom runs out of other games in the series to remake, although it’s impossible to guess when that might actually happen. Capcom has said

Instead of turning towards the future, CD Projekt has blasted back to the past with the fake promise of a floppy disc version of Cyberpunk 2077 spanning 97,619 ‘diskettes’.
Take on a giant in Dead By Daylight
In an actually playable 48-hour event, My Little Oni sees the survivors in Dead By Daylight try and survive a giant Japanese demon. There’s nothing overtly funny about it, and since it’s a real thing doesn’t count as a prank, so it’s hard to see what the connection to April Fool’s Day is even supposed to be.
