Singer Lee Greenwood defends the 'God Bless the USA' Bibles being sold in collaboration with ex-President Trump, who is facing a trial next month concerning payments made to an adult film star.
Trump posted a video on his Truth Social platform earlier this week to endorse the Bibles he's co-selling with Greenwood, referring to the Bible as his 'favorite book.' He described it as his 'favorite book.' In the days following this, Trump has been met with criticism for the partnership, with many citing his numerous criminal charges and history of promoting various products. Greenwood disregarded the criticism
in an interview on Thursday with Newsmax’s Bianca de la Garza. He stated, 'I believe it's just from the Trump haters. I don't think people on the left actually hate religion. It's just the Trump haters. And we've been promoting this Bible for over three years, so because the president has also asked the nation to pray and use that specific Bible.'
He also stated, 'I mean, he could have used any Bible at all, but because it has the documents of our Founding Fathers, I think that makes it unique.'
Greenwood also expressed his pride in the president for publicly stating his belief in God, identifying as a Christian, and emphasizing the need for the nation to pray for the country.
When promoting the $60 Bible, Trump encouraged Americans to pray more.
