Ex-star of Coronation Street, Matilda Freeman, appears completely changed in her new part for Passenger. ITV’s Passenger.

The series follows former Met Police Detective Riya Ajunwa, played by Wunmi Mosaku.

She is given the job of investigating a series of strange crimes in the small town of Chadder Vale. As the unusual and shocking events happen – such as one in which a girl vanishes and reappears 24 hours later – Riya must work hard to convince the local villagers that things are not what they seem.

The show includes The Bay’s Daniel Ryan and Barry Sloane, along with former Corrie actors Debbie Rush, Jack James Ryan, and Matilda Freeman.

Debbie, best known for her role as Anna Windass in the ITV soap, plays Terry Jackson in Passenger, Jack James Ryan – aka Jacob Hay – portrays John Trowbridge, while Matilda Freeman plays the role of Lilly Wells.

Jack played the character of Jacob Hay from 2021-2023, and Matilda is best known for playing Summer Spellman from 2017-2020, before Harriet Bibby took over the role.

The actor recently posted on her Instagram some screenshots of her portraying Lilly, and she looks completely different from the young Summer.

Matilda now has copper coloured hair. Besides some behind-the-scenes shots, the pictures show Lilly lying next to another female character under some swings, and sitting in her room.

In Coronation Street, Summer Spellman will soon leave the cobbles after accepting a placement at Boston university in America. Initially, Summer was hesitant to say yes to the big offer because she didn’t want to say goodbye to Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), who has motor neurone disease.

However, during a talk, Paul told Summer that studying at Boston university is an opportunity too good to reject, so she agreed to go.

    We hardly recognized her!
