Robin Windsor will be buried on Tuesday in his hometown of Ipswich, Suffolk.

The The Strictly Come Dancing community was shocked when it was announced the professional dancer – who danced with celebrities like Lisa Riley, Patsy Kensit, Anita Dobson, and Dragons’ Den star Deborah Meaden – had passed away at 44.

A month after his death on February 20, his family disclosed details of his upcoming private funeral.

His family stated: ‘The funeral will be a private service for invited family, friends and colleagues who were important to Robin in both his personal life and professional career.

‘In the meantime we once again thank everyone for the love and the memories shared of Robin.

‘As a family we also please ask for there to be no further upsetting speculation. We thank you for respecting our continued privacy at this difficult time.’

A friend of the late star told MailOnline the ceremony will be a ‘colorful celebration of his life’ and will include ‘emotional and beautiful dance performances’.

The source revealed mourners – including Susanna Reid, Lisa Riley, Kristina Rhianoff and Gordana Grandosek – have been asked to bring a rainbow umbrella to the ceremony.

‘He was always such a larger than life character, fun to be around but always so open and honest about everything he was going through,’ the source told the publication.

‘His greatest love was dancing so when they started planning his funeral everyone agreed that there had to be a performance that would be a beautiful tribute to everything he achieved in his career.

‘It’s going to be a very emotional day but everyone just wants to do Robin proud.’

Windsor, who appeared on the BBC series from 2010 until 2014, was found dead in a London hotel room, according to the MailOnline.

After confirmation of Windsor’s death, a spokesperson for Strictly told Metro.co.uk: ‘The whole Strictly Come Dancing family are deeply saddened to hear the news about our dear friend Robin Windsor.

‘He was not only an exceptionally talented dancer and choreographer but also a caring, considerate and kind person both on and off the dancefloor.

‘Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this extremely difficult time.’

Windsor’s cause of death has not been revealed and reports claim he ‘vanished’ for some days before.

Shortly after the news came Windsor’s family asked for ‘constant’ speculation over his death to stop.

The family’s previous statement said: ‘We would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and celebration of our beloved Robin.

‘While we understand that there is a huge public and media interest around his passing, we as a family need time to process our shock and grief.

‘We request that our family and friends' needs be considered and our privacy be respected during this challenging time.

‘We request an end to the ongoing media speculation. We will release a statement when we have more information.’
