Gabriel Magalhaes has praised his partnership with William Saliba but acknowledges the Arsenal player sometimes causes him to shout swear words during games.
The two centre-backs are the core of Arsenal’s defence and have played crucial roles under manager Mikel Arteta, making the Gunners strong contenders for the title.
They came very close to helping Arsenal secure their first Premier League trophy since 2004 last season but they narrowly missed out to Manchester City.
Arsenal are once again back in the title fight this season and currently sit top of the table with 10 top-flight fixtures remaining.
Speaking before the showdown against Pep Guardiola’s champions on March 31, Gabriel has talked about his bond with fellow Gunners star Saliba.
‘We speak the same language,’ Gabriel told Stadium Astro. ‘I am Brazilian but I speak French.
‘On the pitch, the communication is very important. We are good friends and sometimes I need to say, ‘Ah Saliba! F*** sake!’ – he’ll say it to me as well.
‘It’s good for us. He understands me and I understand him.’
Saliba, meanwhile, asked about his partnership with Gabriel, said: ‘I love him, he loves me. It’s easy to play with him!’
In the same interview, Gabriel and Saliba also named Arsenal star Jorginho as the player in Arteta’s squad who would be most likely to one day enter management.
