Easter The upcoming celebrations might be very wet next weekend, as forecasters are warning of heavy rain. rain Rain is expected to move across the UK.

England In 1836, the country had its most rainy 18 months since records began, with southern areas seeing more than double the usual rainfall last month.

Unfortunately, this trend is expected to continue, with the Met Office predicting wet weather across the country from Friday, March 29 to Monday, April 1.

They stated: 'Unstable or changeable weather is most likely over the bank holiday weekend and into the following week.

‘All areas are likely to see more rain or showers at times, with some periods of drier weather in between.

‘More wet weather will likely be in the southwest, while northern areas may be a bit drier on average.'

A 400-mile-wide storm from the US is traveling 4,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean to bring 60 mph winds and heavy rain in the two weeks leading up to Easter.

It has already brought tornadoes and large five-inch hailstones in Oklahoma, and it will start drenching the north and west of the UK from Monday evening.

    Up Next

The unpleasant weather will bring two more weeks of rain after enduring the wettest 12 months in 153 years.

The Environment Agency said that England experienced its wettest year since 1871 until the beginning of March, and the rainfall has been double the normal rate in the south of England so far this month.

A Met Office forecaster said: 'The system causing the storms in the USA is heading towards Western Europe.

Later on Monday, it will become wet and windy, with showery rain and brisk winds on Tuesday.

There will continue to be more rain for most areas on Wednesday and Thursday, with strong winds, especially along the coasts.

‘Through Friday and the weekend, northwesterly winds will bring a mixture of sunny spells and showers, some of which may be heavy.

‘The week leading up to March 31 will probably have unsettled conditions in the south, while the north will be drier but colder.'
