The first person implanted with the Neuralink brain chip spent the entire night gaming after gaining full control over it.

Noland Arbaugh is the first person to use Neuralink's brain chip. Elon MuskThe Neuralink brain chip, among other capabilities, can control a computer mouse by thought.

In a recent video, Arbaugh showed how he can now play chess using his mind and revealed his passion for gaming.

He happily confessed to staying up late playing the well-regarded strategy game Civilization 6 until 6am, which he couldn't do after becoming paralyzed in an accident.

In the video, he was asked how he's been using the Neuralink outside of research sessions, and Arbaugh mentioned:

‘I had basically given up on playing that game. It’s a big game, and just the amount of time it takes to sit in on it, it’s just a lot. I have to worry about a lot of things, like getting pressure sores,’ he said.

He said he had no regrets about staying up late, and admitted to playing Civilization 6 for about eight hours that night.

Arbaugh was involved in a freak diving accident eight years ago, which left him paralyzed from the shoulders down.

The Neuralink chip is designed to enable control of a computer or mobile device with the mind, which is particularly useful for individuals in Arbaugh’s situation or those who have difficulty using traditional interfaces.

While Arbaugh is the first person to use the technology, the expectation is that it will become more accessible in the future, allowing anyone to utilize it for daily tasks.
