First lady Jill Biden is collaborating with singer Christina Aguilera in a social media post urging people to support abortion rights during the upcoming elections. encouraging voters to back abortion rights in the upcoming elections.

“It was surprising and upsetting. From one state to another, laws against abortion took effect, endangering the well-being and lives of women nationwide,” Biden mentioned, referring to the 2022 Supreme Court ruling that declared abortion is not constitutionally protected.

“Also endangering doctors by threatening them with prosecution for simply doing their jobs,” Aguilera added.

“And now, extremists are even threatening the right to access IVF and contraception for so many families,

More than 1 in 3 American women of reproductive age currently live under an abortion ban since the historical Roe v. Wade decision was invalidated, as shown on the screen.

Biden and Aguilera cautioned about the potential impact of a national abortion ban.

“Secrecy, shame, punishment, danger, even death,” the first lady remarked. “Extremists are exerting more effort to bring us back to a past we believed was long gone.”

Aguilera argued that women and their doctors, not politicians, should make reproductive health care decisions.

“I will not allow my daughter to live in a world where politicians dictate decisions about her body,” the singer stated.

The message is delivered as the Biden-Harris re-election campaign gears up to confront former President Trump in November. Trump has claimed credit for reversing Roe v. Wade, a major focus of President Biden's campaign.

“This November, our reproductive rights will be a major issue in all 50 states. We must come together to prevent a national abortion ban,” Jill Biden stated in the video.

Biden and Aguilera offered resources for people to verify their voter registration and find ways to participate in the efforts to protect women’s rights.
