In Philadelphia, if you search for Landon Dickerson and “blows up” on YouTube, you'll find a lot of videos to watch.
The Eagles’ left guard, who is 6-foot-6, 333 pounds, has signed a four-year, $84 million contract with a $20 million signing bonus and $50 million guaranteed. This shows the team's commitment to building around Dickerson.
Dickerson appreciates the trust shown by Eagles management and the coaching staff through this deal. With center Jason Kelce retiring, it also confirms that the team is focusing on Dickerson. He sees it as a challenge and is excited about it. He mentioned that there will be competition to find Kelce's replacement.
“I know coaches are here meeting,” Dickerson said. “But OTAs roll around and Cam Jurgens, I think, is a phenomenal player. He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do. Extremely talented, extremely smart. I think there are a lot of good options in that offensive line room of guys who can move to center. I think really once we get to OTAs and training and start hammering out which guys fit best where.”
Dickerson’s performance in the second half of a game against the Giants shows his skills. He did well in delivering the ball in the shotgun and quickly when the quarterback was flush to him.
Jurgens looked decent at right guard, and Tyler Steen, a third-round pick last season, could play left guard.
Dickerson will be a significant force in forming the pocket against strong defensive tackles and blitzing linebackers.
The Eagles also agreed to a one-year contract with center Matt Hennessy, a 2020 third-round pick of the Falcons from Temple University.
Hennessy started all 17 games in 2021 for the Falcons, but only three of 11 games last season due to a leg injury.

Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat suggested on Instagram that he might be on the trade block. He has one year left on his contract and wrote, “I will miss you all.”
After adding free agent defensive end Bryce Huff on a three-year, $51.1 million deal, the Eagles are considering a trade involving Sweat, who is expected to earn a base salary of $1.125 million this season, plus a workout bonus of $250,000 for a cap hit of $9.07 million.
The Eagles also face a contract situation with Haason Reddick, who is due a base salary of $14.25 million, a roster bonus of $1 million, and a workout bonus of $250,000. They may extend the deal to lessen Reddick’s $21.8 million cap hit.
Sweat, who is turning 27 this month, had only 6.5 sacks last season, going eight games in a row without a sack after producing 11.0 sacks the previous season. The performance of tackles Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter might have affected Sweat’s production.
Sweat was chosen in the third round from Florida State.
