Ireland Baldwin has caused a big negative response after posting an old photo with Kevin Spacey, before the Oscars weekend.
The 28-year-old – daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger – couldn’t help but feel reflective on the eve of Hollywood’s biggest night, as she wrote a Substack feature on attending the ceremony in 2014.
She went on Instagram to promote her op-ed, titled ‘The Oscars Red Carpet, Leonardo DiCaprio’s Girlfriend Hating Me, and Being 10k in Debt’, the model shared an image she’d taken with Spacey, complete with a Jared Leto photobomb – at the same bash that the infamous Oscars selfie was captured.
Three years after the selfie was taken, the House of Cards was accused of sexual assault by Anthony Rapp, and faced more allegations against four men in the UK – he denied all claims.
He was eventually cleared of all claims in court.
Baldwin was met with intense anger as she uploaded a snap with the 64-year-old with her 655k followers, to reminisce on her time at the Oscars, as well as publicizing her Substack.
‘In honor of the Oscars this weekend, I shared an Oscar story from the archives,’ she captioned the upload. ‘It has nothing to do with anyone in this picture but my oh my, this didn’t age well! Not a Morbius photobomb!
‘You can’t make up the s**t I’ve been through people. Link in bio to subscribe to my Substack.
‘I should add, for those easily triggered, Kevin Spacey is not in this story! I repeat, Kevin Spacey is NOT in this story. Rest assured.’
In the comments, she later added: ‘I think I have to add this just to be crystal clear – Kevin Spacey is a terrible person. My story has nothing to do with him.
‘I simply had to use this photo because it’s unbelievable.’
However, despite the clarification, the image still didn’t go down well with followers, who quickly called Ireland out for posting it in the first place.
Sun_Angel fumed: ‘You had to put that dude in the middle though….smh.’
‘This is back in 2014 when cancel culture didn’t exist so we just chose to ignore people’s toxic and incriminating behavior,’ the new mom fired back.
As Shannon_Wilder86 penned: ‘So, you’re posting a man on your IG who has been accused of harming many people so that you get the attention you need to sell the story?
‘Yuck yuck yuck. I can’t support you anymore.’
Having none of it, Ireland replied: ‘He has 0 to do with the story, but ok bye!’
Lewis Holldorf also commented: ‘I would burn that photo… surprised you would post something so vile just for a little shock value… uncouth.’

Spacey was accused of assaulting Rapp – who was 14 years old at the time – at a party in 1986.
Rapp said he was the target of an unwelcome sexual advance and took legal action in September, 2020.
Spacey rejected the accusations and went to trial in New York in 2022, where he was found not responsible.
After this case, he faced trial at Southwark Crown Court in London for different accusations – including sexual assault and indecent assault – against four men in the UK.
Following a widely-publicized trial last year, he was cleared of the charges and became emotional in court as the jury acquitted him.
