Progress is happening in Lansdale as the borough gladly welcomed a convenient spot to promote a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle.
Stony Creek Park recently hosted an event celebrating progress and community spirit. The Partnership TMA of Montgomery County, along with the Borough of Lansdale and Bike North Penn, invited the public to see the dedication and demonstration of its new bike repair station for cyclists on the Liberty Bell Trail.
Speakers at the event included Jacqui Baxter-Rollins, the Executive Director of The Partnership TMA; state Rep. Steve Malagari; Mary Fuller, the Chairwoman of Lansdale Council; John Ernst, the Borough Manager; Scott France, the Executive Director of Montgomery County Planning Commission; Bill Jackson, the leader of Bike North Penn; and Dominic Vasturia, the Montco representative of Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.

In a joint effort led by the Partnership TMA and Lansdale Borough, with support from Bike North Penn, the unveiling marked a significant step in the ongoing mission to promote a culture of active transportation.
The “Bike More, Drive Less” project aims to push Lansdale towards a future where biking is the primary mode of transportation, as stated by Baxter-Rollins.
Local residents, eager for a greener, more bike-friendly community, showed their support for the endeavor, echoing the borough’s tagline, ‘Life in Motion’.

Lansdale Borough received a $68,000 grant through the Montco 2040 Implementation Grant Program, setting the stage for improvements within Stony Creek Park. Among these enhancements is a new bike/pedestrian crossing on Hancock Street, equipped with a flashing warning device to ensure traveler safety. However, the addition of the bike repair station is the highlight.
“As we symbolically break this chain,” said Baxter-Rollins before the dedication, “let it represent our unity, resilience, and shared commitment to a future full of possibilities. Let us continue to move forward and unite in pursuit of a shared goal: Better biking in Montgomery County!”

According to Baxter-Rollins, The Partnership TMA of Montgomery County collaborates with over 150 public and private partners to fulfill its mission: “Expand Transportation Options for Everyone”. The Partnership TMA provides transportation programs and services to more than 2,300 local individuals, employers, and communities each year.
The next event for The Partnership TMA is on May 23 at Joseph Ambler Inn. The theme is “Celebrating Sustainable Transportation,” and around 100 people are expected to attend.
