The The Democratic convention is scheduled for Aug. 19-22. President Biden is expected to secure his party’s nomination during the convention in the Windy City, as he is currently the Democrats’ presumptive presidential nominee.
Biden previously praised the decision to hold the convention in Chicago, describing it as a “great choice“ in a statement.
“Democrats will gather to showcase our historic progress including building an economy from the middle out and bottom up, not from the top down,” Biden commented.
Jamie Harrison, the Democratic National Committee chair, also expressed support for the decision.
“I am excited that Democrats will be in Chicago to promote our party’s vision and values,” Harrison conveyed in a statement. “The Midwest represents America and will provide Democrats with an opportunity to highlight some of President Biden and Vice President Harris’s most significant achievements for American families.”
