Norm Eisen, former White House ethics head, criticized Trump’s unsuccessful attempt to postpone his New York hush money case.
“It was a dead loser from the beginning,” stated Eisen on CNN’s “The Situation Room” on Monday highlighted by Mediaite.
The same day, a New York appeals court rejected the former president’s request to delay the hush money trial. pause argue that the trial should take place outside of Manhattan.
The court’s decision came after an emergency hearing in which Trump’s lawyers argued that Manhattan is not the right location for the trial and suggested Staten Island instead.
Eisen also noted A questionnaire for jury selection in the hush money case was proposed to filter out bias instead of moving the case.
Eisen mentioned that it was Trump’s ninth delay tactic as he is nervous about facing a jury on the election interference allegations.
Trump’s hush money case, involving 34 counts of falsifying business records, is scheduled for trial next week. The charges are related to hush money payments made by his former lawyer Michael Cohen to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to conceal an alleged affair before the 2016 election. The former president has pleaded not guilty.
